We had dinner here on Monday evening. I had a goat cheese salad, and my husband had some type of chicken with étouffée I think… he said the flavor was good, but it was way too runny, lots of liquid. The goat cheese salad was great. We enjoyed two cocktails and our server was great. Forgot her name but a female with braids and glasses. A large party came in as we were about to be finished, and it seemed to be overwhelming the staff. Also, I would say they need to choose a decorating style and stick with it. They have a Cajun/Louisiana flare, then some random paintings of flowers, then a sports jersey… kind of all over the place.. to be honest I still don’t know what genre of restaurant I was in.. The food was pretty good.

Had a group of 11, bill was split 8-3... bill was over $338 with a large $50 service charge added to the ticket. NOT sure what that is for but someone with us left a $60 tip... the food is mediocre, cabbage too spicy to eat, ordered steak ($60 ribeye) medium rare and it came out fully cooked.. my daughter was too hungry to send it back so she used ketchup for the dryness. We were the only patrons in the building for dinner until we left at 7pm, a couple came in to dine. I do NOT mind paying for good food, do it every year for both of my daughters birthday celebrations but I do not believe it was worth the $110 tip ,$60 voluntarily $50 forced. The other bill for the 3 people had a charge on it also.

I had the blackened catfish, with cheese grits and crawfish ettoufe. With a house salad. Everything was really good. Service was good and the atmosphere was pretty good. Right on the Square in the middle of town.

We ate here tonight and it did NOT disappoint AT ALL! My husband had the meatloaf with the cabbage. He said they were both EXCELLENT! I had the chicken Alfredo and it was the best I have ever had! Of course we had to get the bread pudding to go! Just here for the week. Live in southeast Texas close to the La border, so we like well seasoned food. This is it! Ask for Mike when you go in and tell him his patrons from Texas recommended his place!

The roasted red pepper soup is delicious! I had the eggplant parmesan and it was good. Friendly service and good drink options.

I wasn't sure what to expect here. Good reviews. I thought it may have a Louisiana flare since I'd seen a review of crawfish etouffee. This must've been on their dinner menu, because their lunch menu was very bland typical American dishes. I ordered the hamburger with cheddar cheese and fries. It was obviously hand pattied. A little salty, but overall a good burger. Not a bad stop in El Dorado.

Welcome to Fayrays, a hidden gem nestled in the heart of El Dorado, Arkansas, at 110 E Elm St. This restaurant crafts a unique dining experience infused with a Cajun flair, offering a diverse menu that aims to tantalize your taste buds. Fayrays is a place where comfort food meets bold flavors, and a cozy ambiance greets you as you step inside.

The culinary offerings here are as varied as the decor—a mix of charming Louisiana-inspired dishes alongside intriguing culinary experiments. For instance, many patrons rave about the blackened catfish served with rich cheese grits and crawfish étouffée—a dish celebrated for its hearty flavors. The goat cheese salad, a favorite among customers, is said to be a standout, perfectly balancing rich and tangy notes.

However, not every culinary journey at Fayrays sails smoothly. Reviews reveal a mix of experiences, reflecting a need for consistency. While some diners praise the savory meatloaf and pasta dishes like the chicken Alfredo, others have faced unfortunate mishaps, with reports of overcooked steak and spicy cabbage. The feedback suggests that while the kitchen has placed a strong emphasis on flavor, there is room for improvement in execution.

One can't overlook the service, which has drawn both compliments and critiques. Many guests have noted the friendly and welcoming demeanor of the staff, particularly highlighting servers like a knowledgeable young woman with glasses and braids who received high marks for her attentive service. Yet, it appears during peak hours, the staff can become overwhelmed, leading to a less-than-ideal dining experience for some patrons.

As for the atmosphere, Fayrays evokes a playful confusion with its eclectic decor choices that range from Cajun motifs to seemingly random art pieces. This mix lends a unique charm but raises questions about the restaurant's identity. Despite the decor's indecisiveness, there's a palpable warmth and community vibe that make it a local favorite, especially among families and larger groups.

In conclusion, Fayrays stands out for its bold flavors and potential for greatness, marred only by fluctuating service and food quality. This restaurant continues to captivate the palate of its loyal customers and newcomers alike. If you find yourself in El Dorado, a visit to Fayrays might just be worth your culinary adventure. Don’t forget to try their delectable bread pudding to cap off your meal! Whether you're drawn in by the vibrant flavors or the captivating ambience, there’s a dish waiting to impress you at this unique establishment.
